The Vague Temptation

Chloe gasped. She was a woman who could see the serious look in Davids eyes that was now imprisoning her. ”You
e kidding, right? ”

With a quick movement, Davids hands were on Chloes right and left. Surrounding the girls body with a half-bent body. Looking closely at Chloes eyes, David could see Chloes nervous face. The girl tilted her head back so as not to get too close to Davids face.

”More or less, we know each others nature. And you should know that Im not joking right now, Chloe. ” Davids voice was like thunder in broad daylight. His tone was firm and confident.

Davids right hand reached out, touching Chloes face gently. He brought his face closer until their foreheads touched. ”I need an answer from you, Chloe, ” he whispered hoarsely.

Chloes heart pounded like an old clock about to explode. His body stiffened, unable to move, only to push Davids burly body away from him. She was a woman who couldn help but stand still as she felt Davids regular, warm breaths.

When David tilted her face. Chloes eyes reflexively closed. Waiting for something David will do next.

Instead of waiting for a kiss from David. Chloe felt Davids hand that was on her face disappear along with Davids breath, which she no longer felt. She opened her eyes and looked at David, who was now standing in front of her with a disappointed face.

”Its getting late, Id better take you home. ” David left Chloe right then and there.

Arriving home. Chloe plopped down on the bed. Staring at the ceiling as she kept thinking about what had happened to David in the garden earlier. Davids sad, disappointed, regretful face? I don know what the man was feeling. Chloe couldn guess at all.

But, if David likes her. Since when did he have feelings for her? Chloe never even noticed it as long as she had known David.

This was the day Chloe started moving into her new apartment. After all the obstacles that she had to overcome to persuade her brother so that she could live in an apartment after entering college, Farren finally allowed it with some conditions that Chloe had to accept. Even so, Chloe still felt happy because her wish was granted by Farren.

David came to Chloes house early to help her with the days moving. He carried Chloes belongings into the trunk—helped by several male servants. Chloes mother was already at the door waiting for her son to come out of the room.

After coming down from her room, Chloe hugged her mother tightly and said, ”Mom will be fine, won you? ”

The mother let go of her hand. ”Of course. Your father will be home tonight, so I have friends while Farren and Rayana are on their honeymoon. ”

”Is that true? ”

Chloes mother nodded slowly. ”Do not sleep late at night. If theres anything, just call home, okay? ”

”Ready, Mom! ” Chloe exclaimed. She raised her hand to salute her mother.

Chloe hugged her mother again. Kissed his mother on both cheeks and got into the car. She waved her hand as David started to drive his car out of the driveway.

”Theres nothing left, right? ” He asked.

”I don think so, ” said Chloe, recalling all the things she had brought with her.

Chloe leaned back comfortably in the chair. Chloes long fingers tapped to the beat of the music. Her head moved occasionally, singing in a low voice, but enough for David to hear.

David looked at her in awe. Stealing glances when the girl closed her eyes, as if enjoying every music playing.

For more than an hour, David drove his car. He passed the Kansas Museum and ended up on Troostwood Street. David saw a fairly large building in that place. The building is rectangular with dark red walls. There are lots of box-shaped windows. Just like old old buildings. In front of the building, two courtyards are intentionally planted with tall trees, while in the middle there is a medium-sized road as access to and from. In front of the highway, there are two big cat statues on the left and right.

David passed through the area, turned right, and found an open brick red gate, then parked his car in another row of cars. Chloe immediately got out of the car and rushed to her friends who had arrived first.

”Hey, Chloe. Wasn he the man from that time? ” she asked. She is a woman staring in awe. David looks handsome from behind.

Chloes head nodded; she was a woman looking at David who was opening the trunk of the car and getting ready to take out all the things in it.

”Hes so handsome, ” Stephanie commented.

”Where are Allan and Quil? ” Chloe asked.

”Theyll be here soon. ”

David pulled Chloes belongings—three large bags—from the trunk of the car. One guard came with a stroller for David and put all of Chloes belongings on it.

David walked over to Chloe and shook hands with her friends. ”Hey, Im David Black, ” David said, smiling kindly.

Anne and Stepanie exclaim cheerfully. They both quickly shook Davids hand for so long.

”Im Stephanie. ”

”Im Anne, weve been— ”

”Yes, I remember. You were the sweet girl from that time, right? ”

Annes eyes lit up. She was a girl who would melt just seeing how cool and handsome David was when he smiled. She was a woman who kept imagining how she would feel when she was in the arms of David, who had a stout body.

Chloe raised an eyebrow. She was a woman tugging at Davids jacket impatiently. ”Stop teasing my friends, David. They are too young for you to play with, ” she sneered.

Davids eyes narrowed. He pinched Chloes nose so exasperatedly that the little girl whimpered to be released.

The housekeeper then ushered them into the building and led them into a small hallway. They climbed the first staircase before meeting another long hallway, climbing the second until they reached the third floor. The three teenage girls rooms were side by side. With a sequence number of 20 more.

”Leave me alone, ” David allowed himself to pull up the stroller with Chloes belongings and lead her inside.

The room was medium-sized. One bed, one wardrobe, a small table, a bookshelf, and other accessories. On the side of the room, there is a dining table, kitchenette, and bathroom.

”Those two male friends of yours, does he also live here? ” He asked. He glanced at Chloe briefly before unloading Chloes things from the stroller and placing them against the wall.

”Yes. Two rows of doors in front are their rooms. ”

David turned quickly. Two rooms right in front of Chloes? His eyes caught Chloe, who was busy looking around the room. Shes a woman who hasn had time to look around the room when she booked her apartment first.

David approached the small window beside the bed. He could see the car park from the room. Chloe noticed Davids strange behavior—only briefly—before she was a girl, again looking around the apartment.

”Should I help you tidy up your things? ” He asked.

”You can open a brown suitcase. Everything else, Ill just take care of it, ” said Chloe, pointing to the suitcase in the middle of the black suitcase. Chloe took a suitcase with her and carried it onto the bed and opened it.
