Old Master Si furrowed his brows slightly at Ye Qingtang’s words.
If she was any Tom, Dick, or Harry, he could have easily gotten the attendants to chase her away, but Ye Qingtang was a lady of the Ye household, and not just any lady, she was the sole descendant and future heir of the head of the household as well.

After a moment of silence, Old Master Si finally gave in.
“All right, I’ll allow you to try, however…”

His eyes narrowed with a sharp gleam.

“If you are unable to come up with a method to save San-er, don’t even think about walking out of here!”

Si Bai became slightly unsettled and before he could intervene, Ye Qingtang gave her word without any hesitation: “Sure.”

Old Master Si snorted condescendingly and turned his attention towards Dr Xu who waited at the side: “Dr Xu, it’s good that you are here.
We will appreciate your assistance, just in case someone here harbors any bad intentions….”

Dr Xu answered promptly: “Rest assured your lordship, I will see to it.”

Old Master Si nodded with satisfaction before turning his sight towards Ye Qingtang, with eyes that glared daggers.

“Ye Qingtang, here’s your chance, now you can tell us how you are going to save San-er.”

“…..” Ye Qingtang looked at Old Master Si’s countenance that seemed to yell “If you’re wrong, you’re dead!” She knew that the Si household treasured Si Bai, but Old Master Si’s extreme wariness went beyond her expectations.
Although he Instructed Dr Xu to supervise, in actual fact, he did not even allow her to check Si Bai’s pulse and directly demanded an answer from her.

This old grandpa will surely rank first when it comes to being overbearing!

“I assume checking his pulse is out of the question?” Ye Qingtang decided to test the waters nonetheless.

Old Master Si snorted like it was a matter of fact, “But of course!”

“……” All right, you win.

Ye Qingtang remained composed though, having resigned herself, and after requesting for ink and paper, she started writing a list of prescription at a table on the spot.

Dr Xu shook his head discreetly while he watched from a side.
Even he could tell that Old Master Si was blatantly trying to back Ye Qingtang into a corner.
Without allowing her to examine the patient, there was no way that she could come up with a solution.

Si Bai was clearly at a loss, though the changes in his expression were subtle.

Old Master Si retained his chilling glare and waited for Ye Qingtang to complete her writing before he could finally vent his spleen on her.

Within moments, Ye Qingtang finished writing her second list of prescriptions without any hassle and presented them directly to Old Master Si.

Old Master Si sneered without even laying his eyes on the prescriptions: “Ye Qingtang, you have not even examined San-er’s condition and you dared to come up with these? From what I see, this is not saving, but taking a life instead!”

Ye Qingtang did not know whether to laugh or cry, not giving her a chance for a proper examination and accusing her of false prescriptions were all done by one and the same person.

She knew that with the enmity between the Si and Ye household, it would be a bigger surprise if Old Master Si had not made things difficult for her, but……

“Master Si, since Dr.
Xu is around, why not allow him to peruse the prescriptions before coming to a conclusion?” A subtle smile played on Ye Qingtang’s lips while she kept a face full of confidence.

Old Master Si snorted contemptuously and said:” Feel free to grasp at straws.” With that being said, he handed the prescriptions over to Dr Xu while his glaring eyes remained focused on Ye Qingtang.

“I’d like to see how long you’re able to keep up that façade.”

Ye Qingtang shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly.

Dr Xu perused the prescription carefully, whilst he still had a look of worry initially, but upon reading further, his face became more and more astonished instead.

“This….
this is….!” Dr Xu exclaimed suddenly, his eyes widened in shock.

Old Master Si pounded the table and while pointing his finger at Ye Qingtang, he asserted: “Ye Qingtang! No more excuses!”
