Little Terrified Bun Chapter 79

It seemed like the little girl was acting unreasonable with her parents; while she cried, she shouted, “I don’t want Auntie Li, I don’t want her.
Dad, mom, I don’t want her…” She cried so recklessly that her throat had become hoarse, “I want another auntie.
I hate her, I hate her…”

“Good Ningle, don’t get into a huff.
Auntie Li has been taking care of you for so long already.” The woman wore large sunglasses; she had white skin, a red lip, and wore a knitted cap that revealed her straight and black hair.

“Auntie Li works hard to take care of you.
Who else can tolerate your bad temper?” Compared to the woman’s gentle words, the man’s were much stricter.

“I don’t want her, I don’t want her…” The little girl was tired from crying, and changed to sobbing; but she was stubborn.
She continued to say the same thing.

The woman’s voice became deeper as she lowered her head.
“Ningle, do you know how hard it is to find a good maid? Auntie Li is your dad’s distant relative.
Although she’s strict, she won’t harm you.
You already had your eighth birthday this year.
You can’t have bad temper tantrums like before anymore.”

“Look at you, how are you acting like a kid? School just started and you already started fighting with others.
Dad and mom are already tired from work.
Do you know how embarrassing it was when we were called to the school? Our reputation is ruined because of you…”

The two adults took turns one after the other to criticize the child.

The little girl’s head dropped lower and lower.
Her pair of white and soft hands crossed together and her little body trembled with her inaudible sobs.
As if she was a pained beast seeking her parents’ protection, but not only did she not gain the protection she needed, she was forced into an even more desperate condition.

Wei Jing was hesitating whether to go up to help.
It was their own family affair after all.
“What happened?” A voice suddenly appeared behind him.

Wei Jing turned around, and saw Li Pei looking at the scene before him with confusion.

Wei Jing hesitated, then told Li Pei everything he saw, “It goes like this…”

Auntie Xu also didn’t know if she should go up or back out as it was obvious that the parents were educating their naughty child.
As an adult, she could understand parents’ occasional scolding of their children, but…the parents before her seemed to go too far.

As if they were indirectly projecting all the grievances and stress they had at work onto their own daughter.

“Qingqing, you guys should stop scolding her, Ningle is still very young…” An auntie who looked about fifty years old walked up from the street corner.
Her heart jolted upon seeing this scene from far away.
She quickly ran over to speak for the little girl.
“It will get better when she grows older.”

“Auntie, you are still speaking for her.
Did you know she was just crying and said she doesn’t want you?” The woman waved her hands in annoyance.
“Nevermind, I don’t want to talk about it anymore.
I just hope that she will be more sensible in the future and not get mad or fight with others for something trivial all the time.
On top of that, she cries so easily, what is there to cry about…”

“The child is still young.” The maid smiled kindly.
She lowered her knee and took out a handkerchief from her pocket.
“Come on, wipe your tears, don’t cry anymore.”

It seemed like a harmonious scene in a bystander’s eyes.

But Wei Jing felt that…there was something weird? But where exactly?

The little girl’s body trembled even more.
She extended her hands out in fear and held onto the corner of the handkerchief, carefully grasped it in her hands.
The sobs that were previously about to fade suddenly became louder, as if she was afraid that her parents got mad.
She used both of her hands to cover her mouth, her black strands of hair covered half of her face.

Not knowing why, Wei Jing felt like…the child was crying? And her cries were even sadder.

It was as if she…was scared of the maid?

Unconsciously, Wei Jing moved his legs to run forward.
If the maid was really being nice to the little girl, why would the girl be scared?

“Um…Are you okay?” He stood in front of the little girl; he questioned himself afterwards if he was an idiot as the girl is clearly not okay if she was crying so hard.

“You are…” The little girl looked up with her red eyes; her face was bathed in tears.

Wei Jing’s brain suddenly froze.

Ningle, this is Nie Ningle.

If one were to talk about Wei Jing’s best friend in the past lifetime, it had to be Nie Ningle.
In Wei Jing’s memory, this girl was more masculine than a man, with a height of 178cm, long legs, six packs, firm abs, and much more.
On top of that, she had black short hair, and trimmed, sharp sword-shape eyebrows; she always spoke incisive languages, liked to ride motorcycles instead of BMWs, and she had no problem fighting 1v1.

And this girl before him now turned out to be Nie Ningle.

The Nie Ningle who was known as the ‘Dream Guy’ by others.

“Um…can I say something?” The Li Pei who followed closely behind Wei Jing started to speak as he saw Wei Jing had remained silent for some time now, “You guys put all the fault onto the little girl, have you asked her why she wanted to change to another maid?”

The woman examined the teenager from top to bottom; upon seeing his tattered clothing, she replied with a careless tone, “Why else? She was just acting spoiled with her princess-like temper.”

Acknowledging the woman’s attitude, Li Pei pressed his lips together and awkwardness was revealed in his face.
He then turned to encourage the little girl, “Say everything you want to say.
How can people know what you’re thinking if you don’t say it?”

“I…I…” Nie Ningle had her mouth open for a while now, but couldn’t say anything.

Wei Jing finally reacted to the situation and also started to encourage her.
“Come on Ningle, spill everything the other person did to you! Don’t worry, I will protect you.
I won’t let her hurt you.”

Acknowledging the unfavorable situation against her, the maid’s face revealed a sense of agitation.
“This is Qingqing’s family’s affair, what are you two kids interfering with here? Leave, leave, leave, go back to your own house.”

“What are you upset about?” Wei Jing narrowed his eyes.
“Are you feeling guilty?”

“You’re funny, naughty child.
What can I be guilty about? On the contrary, you guys mind everyone’s business all day long.
Do you not have homework to do?” The woman shouted fiercely to cover up her guilt.

Her act was too obvious, everyone could tell that something wasn’t right.

The woman and man met each other’s gaze through the sunglasses; they looked at the flustered maid, then at their pitiful daughter, a bad feeling arose inside of them.

Before everyone’s encouraging looks, Nie Ningle held tightly onto the boy next to her as if his hand could provide her with infinite courage.
“She…hit me…and Brother Ayong even took off my clothes and bit me…” She spoke in a low voice while sobbing.
