Chapter 505 – The Edge of Vanadium

“Well then, Oji-san, I’m off to Teruru now.” (Sakura)

After breakfast, after most of the friends had gone off to the dungeon, Sakura, who stayed behind, said to me.

I put down the teacup of tea I had been sipping after breakfast and looked up at Sakura.

“You’re going to Teruru?” (Ryouta)

“Yeah.
Earning money is good, but I also want to raise my level.” (Sakura)

“Isn’t there a better place to raise your level?” (Ryouta)

“No, no, you don’t understand, Oji-san.” (Sakura)

Sakura shook her upraised forefinger and smiled with pride.

“Teruru is all slime, right?” (Sakura)

“Yeah.” (Ryouta)

It’s a dungeon with all kinds of slimes, but only slimes.

“And when it comes to leveling up, it’s slime, just like when it comes to wind chimes, it’s a veranda.” (Sakura)

“Is that right?” (Ryouta)

“Yes, that’s right.
That’s what the masterpieces say, too, like 3xx years of defeating slime, or level 99 with only an ari*han.” (Sakura)

“…… no comment.” (Ryouta)

Sakura continues to say things that are hard to respond to.

It’s hard for me to respond to her because I respect her.

When you see the magic “Genesis” and you see the special effects that are actually in line with the story, you know that they really mean it.

That’s why it’s hard to retort her.

“So, I’m off!” (Sakura)

I don’t get into it and the conversation doesn’t get any wider, so she goes off with a bang.

I stay in the cafeteria, sipping my tea.

Then Emily, who was cleaning up, came over to talk to me.

“Aren’t you going to work, Yoda-san?” (Emily)

“Hmm.” (Ryouta)

 I thought for a moment.

 Californium had been dealt with.

It’s not completely out of the question, but since Eve and Californium hit it off so well, I think it’s best to leave that part completely to them.

It’s not impossible that Eve and Californium will go in the wrong direction —– being harder on the adventurers than they need to be —- but I think it’s safe for now.

Whether or not they go in the wrong direction depends on my carrot, but I think it’s safe to say that they will.

…… I don’t mean that in a nasty way, do I? Just in case.

Anyway, that’s all settled, and Plumbum went there right after I woke up in the morning.

This means that there is no need to do anything urgent today.

“……Yes, I’m going to rest today.” (Ryouta)

“You’re taking a day off desu?” (Emily)

“Yeah, it’s good for a change.
That’s why I’m sorry, but can I have another cup of tea before Emily goes out?” (Ryouta)

“All right desu.
I’m going to take a day off too desu.” (Emily)

“Emily too?” (Ryouta)

“Yes.
I’ll go and make some tea desu.” (Emily)

Emily clomped her slippers happily and trotted out of the dining room and into the kitchen.

 I don’t know if I’m happy or …… why.

I’m not sure why, but it’s good that she’s happy.

Emily says she’s not going to work either, so we can hang out together today.

“…… (tug tug)” (Vanadium)

“Hmm?” (Ryouta)

Before I knew it, Vanadium was next to me, tugging at my clothes and staring at me.

She still doesn’t say anything, but she looks like she wants to say something.

“Do you want to hang out with me?” (Ryouta)

“……!” (Vanadium)

Vanadium was overjoyed, she jumped on me and hugged me tightly.

Not only that, she’s burying her face into my breastplate.

It’s a straightforward expression of emotion, just as she looks.

“Then let’s move to the salon to relax …… No, wait, what?” (Ryouta)

I suddenly remembered Sakura’s words from earlier.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Japan since I moved to the other world.

Sakura’s words brought it back to me.

I clung to her, staring at the Vanadium.

“…… Hey, Vanadium can remodel the rooms in the dungeon any way you want, right?” (Ryouta)

“…… (Nod nod).” (Vanadium)

Vanadium looked up at me and nodded her head in immediate response.

“Then …….” (Ryouta)

I bent down and explained to Vanadium what I was thinking.

     ☆

“Where are you, Yoda-san? Oh, you’re here desu …… Huh?” (Emily)

 Emily walked into the room.

She was holding a cup of hot water on a tray and was flabbergasted.

“This is …….” (Emily)

Emily scurried around the room, seeing it for the first time.

“Oh Emily, I’m sorry, I forgot to tell you I was coming over.” (Ryouta)

“That’s fine desu ……where are we nanodesu?” (Emily)

If you look at the letters, you’ll probably think what the hell am I talking about.

You walk into a room and ask, “Where am I?” That’s not a question that usually comes up.

And yet, that’s what Emily asked me.

It was the kind of room where you would ask that.

 It was a Japanese-style room.

The room had tatami mats that smelled of rushes, and opposite the entrance was a large open space with a view of the outside.

Of course, just like the windows in the salon, this is a wall of Vanadium that looks out.

One step before the “outside”, the edge is not tatami but a wooden walkway.

In other words —– a veranda.

The most important point of this room.

 The veranda.

 That’s it.

“It’s a veranda.” (Ryouta)

“En-ga-wa?” (Emily)

“Come here, come here.
Come and sit here.” (Ryouta)

“Yes desu……” (Emily)

I called Emily, who looked like she’d been caught by a fox, and sat her down beside me.

She takes the cup and sips it.

 Chillin’.

 The wind chime rings.

I sip my tea without saying a word.

I glanced at Emily, who sat next to me.

The curious look on her face when she came into the room was nowhere to be seen, and she was looking at the scenery with a peaceful expression.

“Nice, isn’t it? Here.” (Ryouta)

“Yes, it is desu.
It’s so relaxing nanodesu.” (Emily)

“I just remembered this…… Let’s stay here today.” (Ryouta)

“Yes desu!” (Emily)

 Emily nodded happily.

Emily and Vanadium and her friends continued to hang out on the edge they had built in the dungeon until they returned.

Tomorrow, I’ll do my best again.
