The National Shrine is important because of two reasons, namely that of the presence of the tomb of St.Thomas the Apostle and also because of Our Lady of Mylapore. The Feast of St.Thomas is celebrated on July 3rd every year while that of Our Lady of Mylapore is a moveable feast.
