PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF MYLAPORE

Mary our Mother, numerous clients continually surround your holy image, all imploring your mercy. All bless you as the assured help of the miserable; all feel the benefit of your maternal protection. With confidence then, do we present ourselves before you in our misery. Dear Mother, many are the evils to which we are exposed; numerous are our wants, trials and sorrows often depress us; reverses of fortune and privations, often grave, bring misery into our homes; everywhere we meet the cross.

Have pity, compassionate Mother, on us and our families. At this moment we bring to you our special necessity from which we suffer (mention it... pause...) Help us, O Mother, in our distress; deliver us from all ills; or, if it be the will of God that we should endure, make us suffer with love and patience.

Grant us, unworthy as we are, O Lady, the faith and devotion which our forefathers in this city showed towards you, when they lovingly called you. Our Lady of Mylapore...

Amen

PRAYER FOR PROTECTION

Priest : Let us now praise Our Mother and commit ourselves to Her motherly protection.

All : Hail Holy Queen, Mother of mercy hail our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you do we sent up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy towards us; and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb Jesus. O clement, O Loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Priest : Pray for us, Our Lady of Mylapore.

All : That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Priest : Let us Pray

O Lord Jesus Christ who gave us your Mother Mary, as a Mother ready at every moment to help us; grant, that we who call on her help may always enjoy the fruit of your redemption. This we ask through you who live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.

FINAL BLESSING

Priest : The Lord Jesus Christ be with you that, He may defend you, within you that He may sustain you, before you that He may lead you, behind you that He may protect you above you that He may bless you. In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
